SOUTHEAST ASIAN TOBACCO CONTROL ALLIANCE: Workshop to reduce attractiveness of tobacco products held in Singapore


Southeast Asian Tobacco Control Alliance recently issued the following announcement. 

Singapore, 26-28 March 2019: SEATCA in close collaboration with the World Health Organization in the Western Pacific Region (WHO WPRO) and the Singapore Health Promotion Board conducted a three-day workshop to give technical assistance to public health officials in the ASEAN Region in developing regulation of tobacco product contents, design and emissions to reduce product attractiveness in accordance with Articles 9 and 10 Guidelines of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC). 

SEATCA Executive Director Dr. Ulysses Dorotheo and SEATCA Knowledge and Information Manager Ms. Tan Yen Lian participated in the meeting as resource persons and facilitators. 

Other resource speakers include Ms. Kate Lannan, Tobacco Free Initiative (TFI)-WHO WPRO Coordinator, Mr Denis Choinière 

Director of Health Canada, Dr Cheah Nuan Ping, Director of Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics & Cigarette Testing Laboratory, Applied Sciences Group, Health Sciences Authority, Singapore, and Dr Reinskje Talhout from the Centre for Health Protection, National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) in the Netherlands.
