Taxes make up more than 75 percent of tobacco products' retail prices

The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that 32 countries -- representing 10 percent of the world's population -- have taxes on tobacco products.

Those taxes make up more than 75 percent of the retail price for tobacco products.

As of March 2018, the WHO reported there were 1.1 billion smokers worldwide.
