A report by QuoteWizard, a LendingTree company, found that Oklahoma, Kentucky, and Indiana are tops in vaping based on Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data.

The company was interested in doing this study because insurance companies may need to create a clear designation on e-cigarette use if underage youth continue to use e-cigarettes.

The ACA allows insurers to increase premiums up to a maximum of 50 percent for enrollees who use tobacco products. The FDA classifies e-cigarettes as a tobacco product.

QuoteWizard ranked all 50 states from the highest crude prevalence to the lowest, using the CDC’s Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System.
